MIKE BLACKNEY
A Miami native, I graduated from the Automotive Technology Program at Atlantic Vocational and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1993. As a Seabee in the Naval Construction Force, I served 26 years, taking on assignments across the U.S. and around the world, including deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
I developed extensive construction and infrastructure expertise specializing in areas I now leverage in real estate: Quality Control, Code Enforcement, Environmental Regulation, Facility Management, Safety and Contract Oversight. I earned certification as a Construction Health and Safety Technician from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from American Military University.
In 2019, I retired as a Senior Chief and returned home to Florida, settling in Sebring. I quickly immersed myself in the community, joining the Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee for Highlands County, the Board of Directors for the Country Club of Sebring Property Owners Association, the Board of Directors for Thakkar Tennis and Pickleball Center, as well as serving in many different roles as a youth coach.
I deeply value time with my wife Renee and our four grown children. I am also passionate about sports, music, fishing and making the most of the incredible outdoor lifestyle this area has to offer. Today, I bring my construction background, leadership experience, and strong community ties to the world of real estate. I am excited to show you the Seabee Motto of “Can Do” as I go to work for you!
